Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Narcotics Control Ataullah Tarar has warned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Punjab government that if a single worker of PML-N was arrested, “all of you” would also be arrested.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Saturday, Ataullah Tarar alleged that the cases registered against PML-N’s MPAs and workers were in revenge for the sedition case filed against Shehbaz Gill.

Earlier, PML-N leaders including Ata Tarar, Rana Mashhood, Awais Leghari, Muhammad Mirza Javed, Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar, Pir Khizar Hayat Shah, Raja Sagheer Ahmed, Mian Abdul Rauf, Pir Muhammad Ashraf Rasool, Bilal Farooq Tarar and Rana Mannan Khan approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for protective bail after the case of ruckus in Punjab Assembly was registered and a district court in Lahore had issued their arrest warrants. The PML-N leaders had fled to Islamabad to avoid arrest.

Tarar said that in reality, Chief Minister Pervez Elahi, his party and PTI MPAs had attacked the deputy speaker Dost Mazari and the actual case was against them. He alleged that CM Punjab was involved in torture against Mazari, but fake cases were registered against them.

The PML-N leader also stated that Bani Gala was controlling the CM and the Punjab government through “remote control”. He vowed that PML-N would not back down but it would face the fascist government head on.

Punjab’s Interior Minister Hashim Dogar has said that police was searching for PML-N leaders to arrest them after a court had issued their arrest warrants. He added that officers who were involved in misuse of authority on May 25 had been removed.

He also said that CCPO Lahore, DIG operations and DIG investigations had been removed from their positions along with the dismissal of 30 inspectors, suspension of four SPs and seven DSPs

A high level inquiry was underway, he added.
