As if Pakistani film ‘Joyland’ getting selected at Cannes wasn’t enough to make us happy, Saim Sadiq’s directorial work has also succeeded in garnering for itself a ten minutes long standing ovation at the 75th edition of the film festival.
A video has been circulating on the internet which shows a massive crowd standing to clap for the film post its premier at the festival, with its director from Pakistan, Saim Sadiq growing teary-eyed at such a positive response to his work. Multiple celebrities including Mehreen Jabbar, Osman Khalid Butt and Nabeel Qureshi have been observed re-sharing the video on their respective social media accounts and congratulating the entire team of ‘Joyland’ for attaining such success.
Carrying an ensemble cast including Sarwat Gilani, Sania Saeed, Sohail Sameer, Rasti Farooq, Alina Khan, Ali Junejo and Salmaan Peerzada, ‘Joyland’ has been supported in the production by multiple names including Sarmad Khoosat from Pakistan, who along with the entire cast, made sure to attend the festival.
