She shared a close-up photo of Sridevi wearing a yellow sari and a bindi, taken from the music video of the famous song “Mitwa” from the film “Chandni,” in which Sridevi starred alongside Rishi Kapoor. Sajal expressed her longing, writing, “Happy birthday to you! I miss you,” and played the song sung by Lata Mangeshkar in the background. This was a tribute to Sridevi’s legacy as an actress. Sajal and Sridevi developed a close bond while working on the film “Mom,” where Sridevi played Sajal’s stepmother seeking revenge after Sajal’s character is assaulted.
On Sridevi’s birthday, Google paid tribute with a beautiful illustration by Indian artist Bhumika Mukherjee, showing Sridevi’s captivating eyes and traditional dance pose with henna and gold bangles. Sridevi sadly passed away on February 24, 2018, due to accidental drowning in her Dubai hotel room. She left behind her husband, producer Boney Kapoor, and daughters Janhvi and Khushi.
