Veteran actress and director Sakina Samo, currently playing the role of ‘Phupho’ in popular serial ‘Dobara’, did not at all hesitate before taking it to her Twitter handle to express how disappointed she was at Humayun Saeed having been chosen for the role of Dr. Hasnat in the famous Netflix series ‘The Crown’.
The actress went to the extent of saying that she would boycott the series and would not watch it; such has been her disappointment.
According to Sakina Samo, Fawad Khan would have been a much better choice for the role, but “how could they not cast Fawad?” said the actress. She also said that Humayun Saeed may well look like the real Dr. Hasnat, but it was the current look of the famous surgeon which resembled Humayun Saeed, not his look from the 1990s.
Since the series will be showing Dr. Hasnat as he was in the 1990s, the decade in which the love affair between Diana and Hasnat Ahmad surfaced, it would have been better to choose someone else, opined the actress, most preferably Fawad Khan.
Many were left dumbfounded at Sakina Samo’s blatant confession of her choice between two of Pakistan’s famous actors, and it is therefore that she has invited negative criticism as well.
Sakina Samo has been asked by many to keep patience and be happy that a star from Pakistan will be working in a foreign series, regardless of whether it is Humayun Saeed or Fawad Khan. Still, the obstinate Sakina Samo’s anger didn’t abate, and she chose to boycott the entire series in return.
