The Saudi Foreign Ministry summoned the Danish charge d’Affaires in Riyadh and lodged a strong protest over the desecration of the Holy Quran in Denmark.

Saudi Arabia handed over a protest note to the Charge d’Affaires in this regard and called on the Danish government to stop insulting actions that violate international laws and principles, including religious teachings.

The Saudi foreign ministry says extremist groups in Denmark desecrated the Holy Quran and chanted hate and racism against Islam and Muslims in front of the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen.

After the incidents of desecration of the Holy Quran, many countries of the Middle East have summoned diplomats of Sweden and Denmark and lodged a protest.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia and Iraq have convened a virtual emergency meeting of Muslim foreign ministers on July 31, 2023, on the continuing desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and Denmark.

According to the Saudi News Agency, the emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers is part of the implementation of the statement of the emergency meeting held in Jeddah on July 2 at the OIC General Secretariat, in which it was called for a high-level emergency meeting as and when necessary.
