The Supreme Court has decided to hold a hearing on the appeal made by former President Pervez Musharraf to reject his nomination papers after his death.

The hearing, led by the Chief Justice of Pakistan and involving a three-member bench, is scheduled to take place on July 20. This pertains to the appeal filed by Pervez Musharraf himself.

It is worth mentioning that Pervez Musharraf, who served as Pakistan’s President from 2001 to 2008, had contested the rejection of his nomination papers during the 2013 elections. The final hearing on his appeal took place five years ago.

Earlier this year, on February 5th, former President Pervez Musharraf passed away at the age of 79 in Dubai after battling a prolonged illness. Throughout his time in power, he faced numerous assassination attempts and became a prominent figure in the conflict between militant Islamists and the Western world.
