Seven teachers killed in Upper Kurram school attack

At least seven teachers have reportedly been killed in shootings at a school and in a vehicle in the Upper Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Seven teachers were killed when unknown assailants fired bullets inside the staff area of the school; local media were told by authorities. One police officer was also hurt in the firing.

Police officers and rescuers raced to the school after the shooting, and the local hospitals declared an emergency.

Students were sitting for their matriculation examinations atthe Government High School Tari Mangal, which is in a hamlet some 20 miles from Parachinar, the center of Kurram’s district.

There were additional teachers present for the tests from other sections of the district.
