Shah Mahmood alleges own party conspired against him in 2018 polls

Zain Qureshi says foreign minister pointed towards Tareen and Aleem Khan

Shah Mahmood Qureshi has alleged that his victory in 2018 general elections on a seat for Punjab Assembly was marred by his own party, claiming that the situation in Punjab would have been different if he had been an MPA here.

Addressing a public gathering for the upcoming by-elections in Multan, Qureshi said that his own party had conspired him and he had informed the PTI chairman the reasons behind his defeat.

He said that his defeat did not make any difference to him as he became the foreign minister, but it made a difference to people of Multan and South Punjab.

Zain Qureshi, Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s son and candidate for PP-217 by-elections, while clarifying his father’s statement, has said that Shah Mahmood was pointing towards Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi had lost his provincial assembly seat against independent candidate Sheikh Salman Naeem, who joined PTI and later became part of the Tareen group.
