The Bollywood superstar recently won praise after a heartfelt revelation by Marathi filmmaker Pravin Tarde, who shared how Khan’s selfless support played a crucial role in the journey of his successful film Deool Band 2.

Pravin Tarde, the director behind the biggest Marathi hit of 2026, opened up about the challenges the team faced before the film’s release. While discussing the movie’s remarkable box office performance, Tarde credited Shah Rukh Khan and his production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, for extending timely support when the makers were struggling financially.

The filmmaker revealed that he approached Red Chillies Entertainment to obtain a Digital Cinema Package (DCP), a crucial requirement for screening a movie in theatres. Initially, the team had allocated around ₹12 lakh for the process, but the final expense unexpectedly increased to ₹42 lakh, creating a major financial burden.

Unable to arrange the additional amount, Tarde contacted the production house and explained the difficult situation. He requested assistance, hoping that the team would understand the struggles faced by regional filmmakers.

The matter eventually reached Shah Rukh Khan, who personally looked into the issue. After discussing it with his technical team, the actor learned that the film was made by the creators of Mulshi Pattern, a Marathi film whose Hindi remake Antim starred Salman Khan. Since Shah Rukh was already aware of their previous work, he showed interest in knowing more about Deool Band 2.

His team informed him that the movie was an emotional and well-crafted project, but the makers were unable to pay the pending amount required to receive the DCP. Despite the financial concerns, Shah Rukh made a decision that left the entire team deeply moved.

According to Tarde, the actor instructed his team to hand over the DCP without insisting on immediate payment. He reportedly said that since it was a Marathi film and a good project, the focus should be on helping it reach audiences rather than worrying about money.

Tarde praised the respect shown by Shah Rukh and Red Chillies Entertainment towards Marathi cinema, saying that they placed the importance of the film above financial gain. He credited this gesture as one of the factors that helped Deool Band 2 achieve its extraordinary success.

The director further shared that the film is now moving towards joining the prestigious ₹100-crore club and has received immense appreciation from audiences. However, what touched him the most was that Shah Rukh extended his support at a time when the film’s future was uncertain and there was no guarantee that it would become successful.

Expressing his gratitude, Tarde said he would always remember Shah Rukh Khan’s kindness because he chose to support the project purely on the basis of its artistic value and not its commercial potential.

Deool Band 2 was released on May 21, 2026, and has since emerged as one of the most successful Marathi films of the year, with Shah Rukh Khan’s quiet act of generosity becoming a memorable part of its inspiring journey.
