Shahid Afridi, the renowned cricketer from Pakistan, recently expressed his heartfelt sentiments for his beloved daughter Aqsa Afridi on the occasion of her wedding to Naseer Nasir. The wedding ceremony took place in Karachi last night.
Aqsa had already been married to Naseer in December of the previous year, during a private nikah ceremony. The rukhsati, which marks the official transition of the bride to her husband’s home, was scheduled to occur later.
Afridi shared some captivating photographs from the star-studded rukhsati event on his official Twitter account, accompanied by a touching message dedicated to his dear daughter. He also extended his best wishes to the couple as they embarked on a new chapter in their lives.
In his heartfelt note, Shahid Afridi wrote, “My dear daughter, it feels like just yesterday when I held you in my arms. On that day, I made a promise to myself that I would always be by your side. Although you are about to embark on a new journey in your life, you will forever hold a special place in my heart because I am the man who loved you first.”
He concluded his message by praying, “May Allah protect both of you under His divine shelter and grant you the opportunity to build a beautiful life together. Ameen.”
Aqsa looked resplendent in an opulent pure-red sharara adorned with intricate golden embroidery. However, for privacy reasons, the photographs shared on the microblogging site focused on concealing the bride’s face.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the entire Pakistan Test squad, who were currently practicing in Karachi for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour. Prominent players such as Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Imam ul Haq, Shan Masood, Hassan Ali, and Aamir Jamal were seen at the event.
Furthermore, former cricketers including Moin Khan, Arshad Khan, Mohammad Akram, and Waqar Younis also attended the wedding ceremony.
It is worth mentioning that Afridi’s second daughter, Ansha Afridi, is married to Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen, and her rukhsati is scheduled to take place later this year.
