Shandur Polo Festival concludes with colorful celebrations

The three-day Shandur Polo Festival concluded with colorful celebrations. On the final day, school children performed tableaux, while bands from Frontier Corps and Gilgit-Baltistan performed national songs.

Local artists also performed Waziristani, Chitrali, Khattak and Kailashi dances. Paragliders and Pakistan Army SSG commandos received special applause from the audience through Para trooping.

Chitral defeated Gilgit-Baltistan by seven goals to five in the final match of Shandur Polo Festival.

Corps Commander Peshawar was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. The chief guest presented trophies and cash prizes to the best performing players, runners-up and winning teams.

It has also been announced to set up a fund for the promotion of Shandur Polo Festival, welfare of former polo players and global recognition of the festival.

On the last day of the festival, a large number of domestic and foreign tourists enjoyed the polo match. Senior civil and military officials, a large number of people from the area and other guests attended.
