An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has released Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shehryar Afridi. However, the police have again arrested the PTI leader.

The anti-terrorism court heard the case filed against Shehryar Afridi in New Town police station. The police produced them before the court.

The court discharged Shehryar Afridi from the case, but he was arrested again as soon as he came out of the court. Rawalpindi police shifted him to Adiala Jail.

PTI leader Farrukh Habib stated in his tweet, “Shahryar Afridi was discharged by the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court for arresting him in a fake case and issued a show-cause notice to the police officers. Shehryar Afridi and his lawyers were tortured by the police on leaving the court after being discharged. Shehryar Afridi is facing the law. He was in jail for more than 80 days. Now he has been released on bail. However, his constitutional rights are being violated. Today DC has brought the order of 3MPO of Islamabad to re-arrest Shehryar Afridi.”

It may be recalled that the Lahore High Court had ordered the release of Shehryar Afridi in a case yesterday, but he was arrested immediately after his release from Adiala Jail late at night and put him under house arrest again.

The Deputy Commissioner issued a notification for his 15-day detention.
