Sheikh Rashid fears he may be assassinated

After former prime minister Imran Khan, his key aide Sheikh Rashid has also expressed fears of being assassinated.

In a video message released on Twitter Sunday, the former interior minister said that he had filed an FIR against the killer of 22 people in the Margalla police station.

“These people want to kill me and cause violence in the country,” he claimed.

Regarding what happened in the provincial assembly on Saturday, he said that police had purposely closed the doors of the Punjab Assembly. He further warned that this was the first instalment, with the second instalment coming soon.

He added that his opponents think that by appointing their chosen prosecutor in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) there will be no accountability, but this is their mistake. He said that important decisions would happen by May 31.

The Awami Muslim League chief said that “we know what will happen in the meeting of the allies of the incumbent government on Monday.” He said that former president Asif Zardari had tied the hands of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) by playing his card, and now PML-N was trapped. “These people have begged the military for help. Their appeal for the one and a half year tenure has been rejected, which is why they want to dump the dirt of inflation on the army,” he alleged.

Talking about the army, he said that he was sure that the armed forces would not shoot at peaceful protesters.

It merits mentioning here that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan had also recently claimed that his life was under threat, after which his security was increased.
