Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a member of Abu Dhabi’s ruling family, has passed away at the age of 58.
According to Arab media, Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had been seriously ill for some time; he was the brother of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
As per reports, Sheikh Saeed was appointed as the representative of Abu Dhabi’s rulers in June 2010.
He was also a former member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and had served as the Chairman of Miri Time Port Authority (Abu Dhabi).
His passing was announced by the Presidential Court five days ago on July 22, stating that Sheikh Saeed was in critical condition.
The Abu Dhabi Presidential Court has declared a three-day mourning period in the country following Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s demise, during which flags will be flown at half-mast.
