Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Sherry Rehman has clarified in parliament the criticism of his conduct regarding the remarks made by Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Asif regarding women belonging to PTI.

Sherry Rehman expressed regret in her tweet and said that when the remarks related to women were made in parliament, she was busy sharing some points on the National Adaptation Plan with a colleague and if she was present in the Assembly Hall during this time, she would have intervened to stop such remarks.

Rehman clarified that when she reached the assembly hall, the conversation was in the final stages, so she felt that it was a routine political debate against each other and not about women at all.

She wrote, “I was not smiling at these remarks, but the reason for the smile was that the cabinet had unanimously approved the plan related to environment, which was worked on day and night.

Sherry Rehman further stated, “If I had listened to the remarks, she would have definitely intervened.”

It should be noted that Khawaja Asif had said about the women members of PTI that these are the remains of the person who called the Army Chief his father.
