SHO suspended over ‘party’ in Faisal Town police station

Camera footage of party goes viral on social media

A CCTV video went viral on social media of a police station today where Faisal Town Police Station’s Station House Officer (SHO) Yasir Bashir Cheema was seen along with Lady Sub Inspector (LSI), Mehwish and a private worker.

Reportedly, there were arrangements for a birthday party in the SHO’s room. According to CCTV footage, a person was trying to put a piece of cloth on the camera on the SHO’s orders. Another person seen in the video was identified as a crime reporter from a private channel.

It became costly for the SHO to hold a party by covering the CCTV cameras installed in the police station as he was suspended over the incident.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Dr Abid Khan took notice of the incident and suspended Cheema. The DIG’s office monitored the situation and immediately informed the authorities. LSI Mahwish was also suspended.

On the other side, social media users made fun of the video and gave a lot of suggestions. Many criticized them and some advised other criminal tactics to be used.

A user tweeted, “instead of putting cloth they could have switched the light off”
Another expressed his anger and tweeted that it was “very shocking to see police officers involved in such activities”.
