Shoot begins for Juggun Kazim’s Punjabi language film ‘Shot Cut’

Despite a sudden ban on ‘Javed Iqbal’, the Pakistani film that was supposed to release last month, director and producer Abu Aleeha does not seem to have taken it as a setback and instead has started working on his next cinematic venture which happens to be a Punjabi film in the making.

‘Shot Cut’, as it has been named, promises a unique blend of film, television and stage performers of Punjab, with Juggun Kazim, Gohar Rasheed and Sana Fakhar performing along-with Nasim Vicky, Qaiser Piya, Hunny Albela, Goshi Khan, Erum Malhi, Nawaz Anjum and Ahmed Nawaz.

A major reason why the film has excited the public is that notable stage performers of Punjab, which cater to a specific kind of audience, are collaborating with seasoned television and film performers who have an altogether different fan-following. Their collaboration in the film will result in all the sections of the society running to the cinemas to see how a project starring such an off-beat cast performs under one banner.

Abu Aleeha was also observed taking it to his Facebook account to ask fans to gear up for a comic project around the corner. ‘Shot Cut’ is set to release this year on Eid-ul-Azha.
