Six army officials including two majors embrace martyrdom in helicopter crash

Six Pakistan Army officials, including two majors, have embraced martyrdom after a helicopter crashed during a flying mission near Khost in Harnai, Balochistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other political leaders have condoled the loss of precious lives in the crash.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “All six personnel on board, including two pilots, have embraced shahadat.” The incident occurred late on Sunday night.

According to the press release of the military media wing, the martyrs include Major Muhammad Muneeb Afzal (Pilot), Major Khurram Shahzad (Pilot), Naik Jalil (Crew member), Subedar Abdul Wahid, Sepoy Muhamad Imran, and Sepoy Shoaib.

PM Shehbaz has said in a tweet that he was deeply grieved. Praying for the deceased and their family members, he said that the entire nation shared the grief of the bereaved.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry has said that helicopter flying was getting dangerous and needs engineering evolutions. He also stated in his tweet, “Bravehearts all were too young to die.”

Senator and Federal Minister Sherry Rehman has also offered deepest condolences to the heroes who lost their lives in the helicopter crash.

This is the second incident within two months’ time in Balochistan. The first incident happened on August 1, with the wreckage being found a day later on August 2.

Wreckage of the first helicopter crash that had gone missing was found near Musa Goth in the Lasbela district, all 6 officers and soldiers including Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Ali embraced shahadat.

The Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS) an umbrella organization of Baloch armed rebel groups had taken the responsibility for the August 1 helicopter crash.
