Snow Kabaddi & Jeep Rally Attract Tourists

Snow Jeep rally and Kabaddi at the royal ground Kalam organized by the local youth on self-help basis has attracted tourists from across the country at icy Kalam. Native youths set an example organizing the festival on self-help at the cost of only Rs2 lakhs. The festival concluded with all the colors.

More than 40 drivers demonstrated their skills on unpaved tracks and trails.

In the jeep race, Fida Naseeb Kalami, a resident driver of Kalam, won the trophy by covering the five kilometer track in 1.44 minutes, Mohammad Saeed got the second position and Wazir Mohammad got the third position. Snow Kabaddi match was won by Kalam Young challengers by defeating Saidu Medical College.

On this occasion, apart from local people, tourists from all over the country participated in the event and enjoyed the competitions.

On this occasion, the organizing committee in-charge Aziz Kalami and the local youth of Kalam said that we organized the festival under our help at a cost of around two lakhs, if the government provides resources to the local people, then the festival will be organized and could be held at low cost at venues of every tourist spots of Swat.

Members of the organizing committee Akhtar Ali Jan, Abrar Kohi, Amjad Kalami, Nazir Ahmed, Khalil Wahab and Ilyas Jan while talking to the media representatives said that The purpose of organizing the games is to promote tourism and to send a message to the whole world that there is complete peace in Swat and tourists can visit Swat without any fear.

They demanded if government take steps to build depilated roads, it will cause tourists to travel safe and comforts.

They said that organizing such a festival will also provide livelihood opportunities to the local people.

In the festival, the drivers tried hard to outdo each other in the open field between the snow-capped mountains, while the wrestlers warmed up in snow kabaddi in the cold weather inside the snowy forest and received a standing ovation from the fans.
