Soldier martyred in North Waziristan

A soldier of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom while valiantly fighting terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, the military said in a statement on Thursday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location. “However, during an intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Asmatullah Khan (age 28 years, resident of Mianwali), having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat,” the statement added.

It further said that the sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area. It said the Pakistan Army was determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism, and such sacrifices of its brave soldiers further strengthened its resolve.

On Tuesday, a Pakistan Army officer and a soldier embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in the South Waziristan district.

“On night April 11/12 April, fire exchange took place between security forces and terrorists in general area Angoor Adda, South Waziristan District,” the military’s media wing said. Troops effectively engaged the terrorist’s location and killed two militants.

“Weapon and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists,” it added.
