South Korea and US talk about military drills as tension rise with North

South Korea and the US are currently discussing potential joint exercises involving US nuclear assets as tensions rise with North Korea.

North Korean leader Kim Jong called South Korea the undoubted enemy of the North arose tensions.

According to North Korea’s official media, Kim Jong Un also called for the creation of new intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and an exponential increase in the nuclear arsenal.

In response to allegations of the North leader, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol stated that nuclear weapons belong to the United States.

He also added that planning, information sharing, exercises, and training will be jointly conducted by South Korea and the United States.

According to Yoon, Washington was very supportive of the idea and that it would be aimed at improving the US extended deterrence through joint planning and exercises.

However, when questioned about Yoon’s remarks, a Pentagon spokesperson stated, “We have nothing to announce today.”

He further added that the alliance is still rock-solid.
