A soldier was martyred in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Shinwarsak neighborhood of South Waziristan that resulted in the deaths of eight militants, the military’s media relations division reported on Wednesday.
A statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that during the mission, security forces and terrorists engaged in a fierce firefight.
Eight terrorists, including terrorist commander Jan Muhammad alias Chargh, were killed after troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, the ISPR stated in a press release. It also stated that another four security employees, including two officers, were injured during the gun fight with the terrorists, including 31-year-old Sepoy Hamid Rasool of the Rawalpindi region.
The ISPR said that the killed terrorists still actively engaged in terror attacks against security forces and the murder of innocent civilians had their weapons and ammo seized. The statement continued, “Security forces are committed to eradicating the threat of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave troops further reinforce our determination.”
