Southern Punjab beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 11 runs

ATF Southern Punjab, ranked sixth in the points table, defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 11 runs in the main match of the National T20 played at Gaddafi Stadium. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won the toss and invited Southern Punjab to bat. Southern Punjab scored 193 for five. In reply, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa scored 182 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

In the pursuit of 194 runs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa did not have a good start. Openers Mohammad Haris and Aamir Azmat returned to the pavilion with six runs each. Kamran Ghulam and Nabi Gul tried to get the team out of trouble. Kamran Ghulam scored 46 off 33 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes while Nabi Gul played a brilliant innings of 54 off 31 balls with five fours and three sixes. Sahibzada Farhan scored three runs.

Asif Afridi scored two runs and was run out. Iftikhar Ahmed played an aggressive innings. He scored 33 runs off 21 balls with the help of one four and three sixes and remained unbeaten. Khan scored 11 runs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa scored 182 runs for 6 wickets Muhammad Ilyas bowled two wickets for Southern Punjab.

Earlier, Southern Punjab scored 193 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Opener Tayyab Tahir maintained his form and scored the third half century in the National Twenty20. Sharon Siraj scored 18, Salman Ali Agha 16, Azam Khan 25 and Amir Yameen 24. Moinuddin and Yousuf Babar remained unbeaten on 8 and 14 respectively.
