Speaker Punjab Assembly adjourns session till 1:30 pm on Friday

The Speaker of the provincial assembly of Punjab has adjourned the assembly session for three days.

Speaker Sibtain Khan adjourned the session till 1:30 pm on Friday.

Today’s session lasted for only 15 minutes and due to an incomplete quorum, the agenda items of the assembly session could not be completed.

The opposition had pointed out the quorum on which the assembly session was postponed for some time but upon non-completion of the assembly quorum, the session was adjourned by Speaker Punjab Assembly Sibtain Khan till 1:30 pm on Friday.

Speaker, at the moment of adjourning session, said that the agenda could not be completed for today’s assembly session and the same agenda will be implied in the assembly session on Friday.

It is pertinent to mention that Governor Punjab Baleegh-ur-Rehman has summoned the assembly session tomorrow at 4 pm. A notification issued from the Governor House yesterday night stated that it had come to the Governor’s notice that the Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had lost the confidence of assembly members of both PTI and PMl-Q.

Governor had also mentioned a few incidents in this regard and demanded the CM Punjab take a vote of confidence tomorrow.

However, Speaker had earlier today stated that the assembly was already in session and a new session couldn’t be called at such time.
