Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been sent to four-day physical remand in the cipher leak case as the special court set up under the Official Secrets Act heard its first case.

PTI leader and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was earlier remanded for one-day by a lower court in Islamabad.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi was produced before a court set up under the Official Secrets Act, where Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain conducted an in-camera hearing of the case, and instructed unrelated lawyers, journalists and others to leave the court.

The federal investigation agency (FIA) sought 14-day physical remand of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, on which the court reserved the verdict.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi was handed over to the FIA on a four-day physical remand.

Qureshi was arrested by the FIA from Islamabad on August 19 in the cipher case, and was shifted to the FIA headquarters after his arrest.
