An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted various areas of the country, including the federal capital.
Different regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were mostly jolted due to the tremors. Strong tremors were also felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Swabi, Kohat, Haripur, Attock and other districts of the country.
The earthquake spread panic among the citizens, and the earthquake was so severe that people came out of their homes, shops and offices reciting the ‘Kalma Tayyaba’.
According to the Seismological Center, the depth of the earthquake was 187 kilometers, and its center was Mount Hindu Kush in the Afghan region.
However, there was no report of any damage of life or any other kind of damage from any part of the country.
