An eighth-grade student from Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, devised a fake kidnapping drama involving himself to evade the penalty for his incomplete homework.

According to reports in the Indian media, the boy informed his family members that two masked youths had approached him and made him smell something that rendered him unconscious.

The boy further claimed that he regained consciousness suddenly when the kidnappers were stuck in a traffic jam while forcing him onto a motorcycle.

He narrated how he managed to free himself from the clutches of the alleged abductors and successfully escaped.

Feeling alarmed by the boy’s account, his family immediately alerted the police, and an investigation was initiated. However, during the questioning conducted by the authorities and after verifying the CCTV footage, it became evident that the boy’s story was false.

Upon further inquiry, the eighth-grade student confessed that he fabricated the entire tale to avoid facing repercussions from his school teacher for not completing his homework on time.
