Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan’s debut film “Archies” is the most beneficiary of highly successful film “Pathaan”.
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the first poster of “Archies” was released on June 11 with an exciting twist. The official Instagram account of Archies shared the poster, accompanied by a caption that included a special reference to “Pathaan.” The caption featured one of SRK’s most famous dialogues from the film.
The caption read, “BRB, kursi ki, aur humari peti baandh rahein hai to go to Riverdale! Grab some Pop Tates’ shakes and burgers and get ready to meet #TheArchies gang, coming soon to @netflix_in #TheArchiesOnNetflix.”
The Archies poster displayed the phrase “Welcome to Riverdale” in English, while the rest of the details were in Hindi.
Suhana’s film also marks the acting debut of Khushi Kapoor, daughter of Sridevi, and Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan.
Providing some insights into the story of “Archies,” director Zoya mentioned, “We have set it in the Anglo-Indian community in India and can’t wait to transport you to the magical, fictional town of Riverdale.”
“The story revolves around the interpersonal relationships among the seven characters and their mischievous adventures. I aimed to retain the original vibe of the comic but felt a lot of pressure since ‘Riverdale’ had already been released.”
“It is incredibly exciting to bring these beloved characters to a new generation while keeping the nostalgia of the original comic alive. We have set it in the Anglo-Indian community in India and can’t wait to transport you to the magical, fictional town of Riverdale.”
According to News 18, “Archies” is scheduled to begin filming this year.
