Sumbal posted as chief secy for three months

The federal government has posted Abdullah Khan Sumbal as Punjab chief secretary for a period of three months.

The development came incumbent Chief Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal was granted 120 leaves. The Establishment Division has also issued a no-objection certificate in this regard.

There is a conflict between the federal and provincial government on the appointment of a new chief secretary.

Since then the Punjab government has given additional charge of the office of the chief secretary to Planning and Development Board Chairman Abdullah Khan Sumbal.

The federal government may appoint Sumbal as the chief secretary on a permanent basis after he was promoted to Grade-22.
