Swat Police raids PTI leaders’ houses

For the Jail Bharu movement, Swat police started raiding the houses of important leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaf, and announcements were made by speaker that whoever wants to be arrested should come out, and police would take them. On the call of Tehreek-e-Insaaf chairman Imran khan, where party workers and officials from across the province are heading to Peshawar to make arrests for the Jail Bharu Movement, on the other hand, a surprising move has come from the Swat Police.

A heavy contingent of police arrived in front of the house of MNA Salim Rehman, former MPA Fazal Hakeem Khan, and former Chief Minister Mehmood Khan and announcements were made by the speakers that anyone who wanted to be arrested should come out themselves, we will take them safely to jail. On the other hand, the leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaf have condemned this move Salim Rehman, Dr. Amjad, and other leaders say that the provincial government has started using the police for politics, and arrest announcements are being made in front of the houses of PTI leaders and political workers to humiliate them.

Voluntary arrests in political movements are given at police stations and not from homes. According to Law experts, the arrest of PTI leadership, workers, and supporters can be made possible only on the violation of Section 144, other than that, they cannot arrest him at the request of anyone. Officials say that in case of blocking the road, cases will be registered under sections 290 and 291, while a case will be registered under 16 MPO for disturbing law and order and raising slogans.

On the other hand, the police officials say that after the arrest of the workers, it is necessary to write the reason for the case and the subpoenas, therefore, the arrests in the Jail Bharu Movement can be made under new cases. Senior Journalist Arif Ahmad said that Swat police have become involved in politics, and arrest announcements are being made in front of the houses of PTI leaders and political workers to humiliate them. Voluntary arrests in political movements are given at police stations and not from homes. “If the DPO and DIG are ignorant, then take action against it and if it is done on their instructions, it is nothing but a mockery of the law.”
