Hillary Clinton has commented on the recent indictment of former US President Donald Trump, stating that it serves as evidence that the American judicial system is functioning as intended.

During an appearance on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show on Monday, the former first lady and secretary of state expressed her views on the fourth criminal indictment faced by Donald Trump. She emphasized that while the situation is concerning for the country, the satisfaction comes from observing the legal system in action.

According to Clinton, the efforts made by Trump and his allies to suppress the truth and undermine democracy are now being exposed, and justice is being pursued. She stressed that this development signifies that the system is working as it should.

In Georgia, there is a possibility of Trump facing a fourth prosecution related to alleged attempts to manipulate the outcome of the state’s 2020 election. A grand jury presented ten indictments in the case to the court on Monday night, although it remains unclear if Trump’s name is among those indicted or the specific charges against him.

Trump already faced indictments in New York, Florida, and Washington, DC, related to various matters including his financial dealings, handling of confidential information, and allegations of attempting to influence the 2020 presidential election.

Hillary Clinton, who ran against Trump in the 2016 presidential election, highlighted the potential dangers she saw in his behavior during the campaign. She frequently depicted him as having authoritarian tendencies and posing a threat to the principles of American democracy.

In a lighthearted exchange at the end of her interview with Maddow, Clinton joked about the timing of her appearance coinciding with the breaking news of the grand jury indictment. She expressed her willingness to appear again and find out what charges Trump might face in the future.
