After the ban on girls’ education, Afghan Taliban on Wednesday stopped Afghan women workers from working at the United Nations.
According to a foreign news agency, the United Nations spokesman said that the Taliban stopped Afghan women staff of the United Nations from working, and the United Nations women staff members were exempted from the ban on the work of Taliban women.
The UN spokesman said it was seeking more details from Taliban officials about stopping Afghan women staff from working.
“The Taliban have already told officials that the UN mission cannot carry out life-saving relief operations without female staff,” the statement said.
Taliban officials had not yet commented on the news.
According to reports, the UN mission instructed its entire male and female staff in Afghanistan not to come to work for the next 48 hours due to security concerns.
