Tere Bajre Di Rakhi: A Punjabi cultural film is set to release on Eid-ul-Fitr this year

Tere Bajre Di Rakhi (TBDR), is an upcoming comedy, tragedy, action and drama film written and directed by the most established film director of Lollywood, Syed Noor and produced by Safdar Malik.

It stars the famous TikTok star Jannat Mirza and a student of film from Canada, Abdullah Khan, as the main leads. The filming began on 15th of December, 2019.

TBDR is a genuine effort by Safdar Malik for the revival of Punjabi culture and cinema. It was years ago since a good Punjabi language feature film was made in Pakistan. After the decline of Lollywood, most of the artists and technicians were moved to Karachi and as Karachi’s majority citizens are Urdu speaking, no one was attempting to make a Punjabi language film there.

Most of the filming for the film has been done in the village Shergarh of district Okara. Director Syed Noor claims that it is a pure family film that one can watch while sitting with his mother, sisters and daughters.

TBDR has been considered as the second most anticipated film of the year 2022 while Bilal Lashari’s ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ is on first number. Social media sensation, Jannat Mirza is all set to make her debut for the silver screen through this film. The TikTok-fame star will be seen in the lead role alongside actors Abdullah Khan, Saima Noor, Babar Ali, Aqsa Mukhtar and Syed Aly Kirmani.

The established comedians of the country including Iftikhar Thakur, Agha Majid and Saleem Albela will also be seen in the film. A local magazine was among the first to break the news with the film’s poster. Helmed by filmmaker Syed Noor, TBDR will be a debut venture for a number of fresh aspiring actors. Other big names such as Rashid Mahmood, Shafqat Cheema, Khushboo, Irfan Khoosat, Mustafa Qureshi, and Saima Saleem will also feature in the film. The film’s post-production work was executed in Bangkok and is now set to release on Eid-ul-Fitr, this year.
