Tharparkar achieves 100pc double dose Covid vaccination

Tharparkar Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nawaz Sohoo along with District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Pir Ghulam Hussain spoke to the media persons on Friday, saying that the process of vaccination against Covid-19 had been completed, with all Tharis vaccinated in the first and second rounds.

They said that during the first dose of vaccines over one million (hundred per cent) and during the second drive nearly 1.5 million) people were vaccinated in the desert district before the stipulated time. They said that 15 per cent of people in the district were also given the booster dose which they did on their own.

They said that it was due to team efforts that they had achieved the record target of vaccinating 100 per cent of people in the desert district after the drive was kicked off in Thar a year back.

They said that the inoculation process in Thar had begun on February 24 last year, achieving their targets successfully with the exemplary cooperation of the people of the desert district. They said that they had set the target of vaccinating 1.20 million people above 12 years of age across the district during the drives as per the directions of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOP).

The officials thanked all their high-ups — including the Sindh chief minister, Sindh health minister, chief secretary of Sindh, secretary of health in Sindh and Mirpurkhas divisional commissioner — for their supervision and guidance.
