The latest internet row is between Mahira Khan and Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar

In this age of social media, no day passes by without a quarrel or two making it to the internet, wreaking havoc on the lives of people involved and ironically entertaining the public. This time around it is the controversial writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and the superstar Mahira Khan.

Mahira Khan recently took to her Instagram to share a clip from her 2014 drama serial ‘Sadqe Tumhare’, and said that she was recalling that hit serial of hers which starred her in the role of Shaano against Adnan Malik.

In response, writer Khalil-ur-Rehman, who had penned the script for ‘Sadqe Tumhare’ and who also reportedly wrote almost an autobiography in the form of that drama, surprisingly took to Twitter to say that he committed a sin by casting Mahira Khan in the role of Shaano. This was how his tweet went:

“I’ll always curse on me for the sin I committed by casting her in a very sacred role in my ‘Sadqay Tumhare’.”

The viewers were quick to realize that Khalil-ur-Rehman holds a grudge against Mahira Khan from the time when she posted against him for verbally abusing Marvi Sirmed on media. This was when Khalil-ur-Rehman’s serial ‘Mere Pass Tum Ho’ hit the screens to the disappointment of several feminists who took it as a disrespect to women who wished to live life on their own terms.

Ever since then, Qamar has turned into a highly controversial figure, with intermittent clashes between him and the feminists making it to television as well as the internet.
