At least three notorious bandits were gunned down in a police operation against the gangs of Sabzoi in Kashmore district’s Kandhkot city on Saturday.

The information was disclosed by Larkana Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh in a press statement.

The government had announced one million rupees bounty on slain desperado Takkar Sabzoi and 500,000 rupees head money each on Sabu Sabzoi and Raju Sabzoi, the official said.

The DIG said that among other crimes the killed dacoits were also wanted by the police in the recent killing of 12 persons from the Chachar community in the Kacha area of Durrani Mahar. He furthered that the dacoits regularly threatened the contractors of the under-construction Ghotki-Kandhkot Bridge over the Indus River.

These dacoits had created panic in the riverine area of Kandhkot and after their killing, the morale of the police had been boosted, Shaikh added.

The DIG said that the ongoing construction work of the Ghotki-Kandhkot Bridge would now continue in a smooth manner.

He further claimed that the tribal clash that ripened after the killing of 12 people of the Chachar community, had also been avoided.
