The three-day urs of Sufi saint Hazrat Syed Ali bin Usman Al-Hajvery (RA) popularly known as Data Ganj Bakhsh will begin on September 15 for which the Auqaf Department has finalised all arrangements.
In this connection, the Auqaf Department had organized a three-day Tasawwuf conference at the Data Darbar Complex.
Advisor to the Punjab CM on Information Omar Sarfaraz Cheema was the chief guest on the second day of the conference. Auqaf Director General Tahir Raza Bokhari and Data Darbar Administrator Shahid Hameed Virk and other organisers were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on occasion, Cheema said that the message of Sufi saints had highlighted the need to respect humanity. “This very message was the fundamental part of the teachings of Data Gunj Baksh (RA).”
He said that not only the people of the subcontinent but the people from across the globe were benefiting from the teachings of Data Gunj Baksh (RA). He congratulated the administration of the Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department on holding a successful International Tasawuf Conference.
He stressed the need to spread the message of peace and love when hatred is prevailing in the society. He added that there was a dire need to hold such conferences, which can promote tolerance, brotherhood, peace and harmony.
He said it was inevitable to adhere to the teachings of Sufi saints for constituting a society free from extremism and terrorism.
