Actor, director and producer Sarmad Khoosat made a lot of Pakistanis nostalgic when he shared a photo from the sets of 2012 drama serial ‘Daam’ on Facebook as well as Instagram just yesterday.
The photo showed Mehreen Jabbar, the director, along with Nimra Bucha, one of the performers from the serial, accompanied by Sarmad Khoosat and Mahira Khan. The latter two were not a part of the project in any way, which suggested that the photo was captured while they made a visit to the sets of ‘Daam’ as friends and colleagues of Mehreen Jabbar.
Sarmad had also captioned the photo with a few verses from the OST of ‘Daam’, saying that it’s one of his favourite Pakistani OSTs, while Mehreen Jabbar was no less than a guru for him. ‘Daam’ got released in 2012, growing into one of the most talked-about projects of those times, and also got nominated for the Lux Style Awards held that year.
Starring Sanam Saeed, Sanam Baloch, Aamina Sheikh, Nimra Bucha, Lubna Aslam, Behroz Sabzwari, Adeel Hussain, Mohammed Ahmed and several other greats, the serial was based on class discrimination. Penned by Umera Ahmed, it is still remembered as one of the best directorial works of Mehreen Jabbar.
