‘Time to provide relief’: Reduced petroleum prices to be announced today, says Miftah

Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has said government would announce reduction in petroleum prices today and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had no objection to it.

Talking to media, the finance minister said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wanted to provide relief to the people of Pakistan, therefore, prices of petroleum products would be lowered today instead of July 15.

Miftah Ismail said that the recommended summary of Oil and gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had been received by the Ministry of Finance. He added that the IMF had no objection to it.

Miftah, while congratulating the nation on reaching an agreement with IMF, said that the nation had stood with PM Shehbaz during the difficult time.
