The Commander of the Bahrain National Guard, His Highness General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, called on Pakistan’s military leadership during an official visit to Rawalpindi on June 9, 2026.
He met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at the General Headquarters (GHQ). The two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation, and ways to further strengthen defence cooperation.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Bahrain. They reaffirmed their commitment to expanding military-to-military collaboration and enhancing strategic coordination.

Earlier, the Bahraini commander held separate meetings with the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and the Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.
At Naval Headquarters, discussions focused on maritime security cooperation and evolving regional security dynamics. The Bahraini commander appreciated the Pakistan Navy’s role in promoting stability at sea and its contribution to cooperative maritime security in the region.
At Air Headquarters, talks centered on Pakistan Air Force modernization efforts. The Air Chief briefed the visiting dignitary on advancements in capability development, infrastructure upgrades, indigenous production, and training reforms.
Both sides also exchanged views on emerging defence technologies, including drones, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, advanced sensors, and digital warfare capabilities. Evolving air defence challenges and integrated operational frameworks were also discussed.
