Judge Humayoun Dilawar of the Local Court of Islamabad expressed displeasure over the request of Imran Khan and the Election Commission’s lawyers to postpone the case. He remarked, “Whether someone will give arguments, I will announce the verdict without hearing.” On the other hand, Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq said in the hearing of the appeal against the Toshakhana case that he will pass an appropriate order in this case.
Judge Humayoun Dilawar of district and sessions court Islamabad heard the Toshakhana case against the PTI chairman.
Imran Khan’s lawyer Khawaja Haris and Election Commission’s lawyer Saad Hassan appeared in the court.
Judge Humayoun Dilawar saw Khawaja Haris and said, “How is Khawaja Sahib, welcome to the new court.”
In response, lawyer Khawaja Haris told the judge that I also congratulate you on the new court.
Election Commission’s lawyer Saad Hassan told the court that Amjad Pervaiz is present in Lahore, two witnesses are present in the court room, record his statement today. On which Judge Humayoun Dilawar said that the trial hearing is to start today.
Advocate Khawaja Haris said that the petition is also pending in the Islamabad High Court, the Election Commission has filed a petition, and it can start.
Khawaja Haris requested to adjourn the hearing till Wednesday, saying that the Islamabad High Court does not know what the decision comes.
On which Judge Humayoun Dilawar remarked that a request was made to postpone the hearing for the third time today, no one should give arguments, I will give the verdict without hearing it.
On this occasion, the lawyer clarified that due to the shifting of the court, he had requested to postpone the hearing earlier, he added that give half an hour, I will ask Amjad Pervaiz and tell him.
On which the judge said that no hearing will be postponed for the lawyers of the Election Commission, Amjad Pervaiz had given a commitment to argue today, the hearing will not be postponed, and the hearing will be held today.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday directed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman’s counsel to clear objections to an appeal against the verdict in the Toshakhana case. Chief Justice Aamer Farooq said that he will pass an appropriate order in this case.
Lawyer Khawaja Haris told the court that objections are being raised against judges but we come to you to get justice, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court remarked that the times have changed, values have changed, you are the old value holder, you objected, you have the right, can objection be raised in everything?
Chief Justice Islamabad High Court further said that in such cases, there are probably more stakes, political matters.
Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar directed the PTI chairman to remove the objections raised by the registrar’s office and said that the case would be filed tomorrow if not today.
He further remarked that the trial court had on July 8 ruled that the Toshakhana case would be maintainable, the application related to seven other bail cases, including the cases related to May 9, was also heard in the same court.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Aamer Farooq heard the petition filed by pti chairman along with objections raised by the registrar’s office. Advocate Sher Afzal Marwat requested that if the PTI chairman comes on July 19, he will bring it for biometrics, to which the Chief Justice said that then I will say that there are cases of political nature. I will pass an appropriate order in the case.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) adjourned the hearing.
