Trafficking, kidnapping and murder: Police crackdown on perpetrators of heinous crimes

Police rescue girl trafficked to Balochistan, arrest numerous accused in connection to crimes in, around Lahore

The Lahore Investigation Police have arrested numerous accused involved in serious incidents including trafficking of young girls, abduction, and murder.

This was revealed by the senior superintendent of police (SSP) investigation in his office today.

While addressing a press conference, Lahore SSP Investigation Imran Kishwar said that the suspects who were involved in murder, including trafficking of young girls after abduction, had been arrested.

Later, two accused, who were trafficking girls and taking them to Balochistan were arrested. The accused lured a 19-year-old girl from the Factory Area Police Station to Karachi and gave her to tribal chiefs of Jhal Magsi in Balochistan for a small amount of money. The cases have been traced.

Kidnappings, homicides surface in various localities 

In addition to the traffickers, various others were arrested from different localities in Punjab for crimes like kidnapping and murder.

SSP investigation revealed that the Nawab Town investigation police have also arrested three accused who kidnapped two citizens for a ransom of Rs10 million. The accused had demanded money by posing as Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officers.

Similarly, Manga Mandi investigation police arrested three accused who shot a citizen dead and injured another. The accused, along with her acquaintance and her friend, had killed her husband.

The SSP also said that the investigation police arrested the accused involved in the blind murder of a man. The accused had shot dead a memorizer of the Qur’an over a minor personal quarrel.

Meanwhile, the investigation police of Nishtar Colony arrested a man who was accused of killing his wife in a domestic dispute. The accused killed his wife with a sharp instrument and buried her body in the open field of Ashiana Society.

He further said that the investigation team from Hair arrested two men, who killed their own accomplice during a robbery. During the robbery, the accused opened fire on the resistance of a citizen, as a result of which their own accomplice was killed.

Investigation team of Iqbal Town Division also arrested 16 accused from seven gangs involved in dacoities and recovered Rs17 lakh and other items like motorcycles.

The investigation police also arrested members of three gangs and recovered one million rupees in cash and 20 mobile phones.

While talking to Minute Mirror, SSP investigation said that protection of life and property of the citizens was the top priority of the police and operations against criminal elements would continue.

He further said that it was a big achievement that the police had rescued the girl from Balochistan.
