Democrats have released former US President Donald Trump’s tax returns for six years in the US House of Representatives committee.

A Democratic-controlled US House of Representatives committee has released Donald Trump’s full tax returns from 2015 to 2020.

Former President Donald Trump and Democratic lawmakers have long been at loggerheads over the release of tax returns after which the US Supreme Court last month decided in favour of the committee and ended the dispute.

Details released by the committee have shown that Trump did not pay any taxes in 2020 despite having a business of millions of dollars.

On the other hand, Trump has warned of serious consequences for releasing tax returns.

During the 2024 presidential election journalists, independent tax experts, and others will be able to examine the details of Trump’s tax returns in depth.

The committee includes 6,000 pages of records of the former president and more than 2,700 pages of personal tax details of Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump as well as 3,000 pages of business details.

Records have shown that during Trump’s presidency from 2015 to 2020 his income and taxes fluctuated significantly.
