Twitter intends to raise the price of its Twitter Blue subscription service from $7.99 to $11 if purchased through its iPhone app and from $7 if purchased on the website.

The information report on Wednesday stated that the action is probably an attempt to protest Apple’s 30% cut of any payments consumers make through apps on the IOS operating system.

The report also stated that lower pricing website will attract more users to the platform as compared to signing up from iPhone.

After the disastrous initial launch of Blue tick Musk now plans to roll out the microblogging site’s verified service with various coloured checks for people, businesses, and governments.

The earlier launch of blue tick resulted in a rise in users posing as famous people and brands on Twitter.
Twitter, Apple, and Google did not respond to the statement.

Last week there was a tussle between Twitter CEO Elon Musk and Apple CEO Tim Cook regarding the 30% fees the iPhone maker charges software developers for in-app purchases.

Musk later met Tim Cook at Apple headquarters.

Musk then tweeted that the misunderstanding regarding Twitter’s removal from Apple’s app store had been cleared up.
