Twitter warmed by judge’s respect of court’s gardener

Gardener Abdul Razzaq receives befitting farewell for years of service at District Court Rajanpur

People on Twitter have warmly welcomed an honorable judge bidding farewell to a gardener who retired after tending to the gardens at District Court Rajanpur for most of his life.

In a video on Twitter, Rajanpur District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Ibrahim Asghar walked Abdul Razzaq, who was wearing a flower garland, through a row of people who applauded the gardener. Asghar opened a car door to let Razzaq in and respectfully bid adieu to the long-time employee with a salute.

Hassan Syed, a police officer, was elated at the judge’s gesture, which he said could only come from someone who was raised right by esteemed parents. He added that Razzaq gave his life to the Rajanpur Court and hoped that Justice Asghar would be granted more honour in life.

Other users found the gesture heartwarming. One said that the video showed a ‘son of soil’ paying tribute to another ‘son of soil’.

Another beamed with pride that such was Pakistan and its people.

Many deemed the judge’s actions as ‘exemplary’ and hoped that others would follow suit.

A user opined that if every Pakistani treated those lower in socio-economic standing to them with dignity, great social change could take place.

Justice Asghar has been serving at the District Court Rajanpur since May this year. He previously served at District Court Sahiwal.
