Two soldiers martyred, terrorist killed in clash

Two soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday. The military’s media wing added that terrorists fired at a military post in the Azam Warsak area of the tribal district. It went on to say that the troops initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, which resulted in the killing of a terrorist. “The militant remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and the killing of innocent citizens,” the statement said. It said that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from him. The martyred soldiers were identified as Naik Rasheed, a 29-year-old resident of Tank, and Sepoy Rasool Badshah, a 22-year-old resident of Lower Dir. “Area clearance is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area,” the ISPR added.
