Residents of the UAE who wish to visit the US are experiencing lengthy delays while applying for US visas.
According to travel agents, the appointments are fully booked up until September 2024, and the next one won’t be available until October 2024, according to Khaleej Times.
Subair Thekepurathvalappil, Senior Manager for Inbound and Outbound Operations at Regal Tours Worldwide, claimed that the demand for US visa applications has reached abnormal heights and that they receive more than 20 queries daily about US visit visas.
The waiting period for B1 and B2 US visit visas has been prolonged through September of next year, according to Dhas Anthony, General Manager of Rejoice Travel & Tourism, and it may get longer shortly.
Subair ascribed this sharp rise in demand to post-COVID travel, which has increased the wait time for visa appointments due to the high demand for overseas travel.
When discussing various visas, Anthony pointed out that a US business visa, sometimes known as a B1 visa, is available for business trips to the US. He noted that anyone might apply for a B2 visa, which is used for tourism.
One can stay in the US for up to six months on a visit visa.
