The PM Office said on Monday that United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will not be travelling to Islamabad for the day owing to inclement weather.

The visit of President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which was originally scheduled for today, has been postponed to a later time, according to a statement.

The UAE President’s visit to Islamabad was planned to discuss ways to strengthen ties of friendship and collaboration between the Gulf nation and Pakistan in a variety of areas.

The President of the UAE travelled to Pakistan for a private visit on January 25. After arriving in Rahim Yar Khan, he had a secret meeting with the prime minister. Today was his scheduled day to travel to Islamabad.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and members of the federal cabinet were scheduled to greet the president of the UAE Aa the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) Nur Khan Air Base today (Monday).

Sheikh Nahyan was to be given a 21-gun salute when he was flown to the airbase by a PAF JF-17 jet.

The Pakistani military was to present the UAE president with a guard of honour later on at the Prime Minister’s House, following which he was to meet PM Shehbaz.
