Ukraine releases video of Monaco bomb attack

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office has released surveillance footage linked to the attempted assassination of Ukrainian billionaire Vadym Yermalov in Monaco, offering new insight into the bombing that injured him and members of his family.

The video reportedly shows a suspect placing a suspicious object near the entrance of a residential building before walking away. The individual repeatedly looks back toward the location while waiting for the target to arrive. Moments later, as Yermalov approaches the entrance with his family, the device explodes.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office in Kyiv, investigators recovered the surveillance recording after discovering that the suspects had allegedly tried to destroy it. Authorities said the camera had been installed near the scene before the attack, suggesting it was intended to monitor and confirm the success of the operation.

Russian media reported that a 39-year-old Ukrainian woman allegedly connected to the attack was later found dead in Kyiv. Reports also said authorities arrested two additional suspects, including a former police officer and an active member of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Directorate (GUR). Officials claim the suspects played key roles in planning and carrying out the operation.

The bombing took place on June 29 in Monaco and left three people injured. Business sources identified the victims as Vadym Yermalov and two of his close associates. Initial reports said two of the injured remained in critical condition following the explosion.

On July 16, Yermalov publicly accused Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence of orchestrating a plot to assassinate him and his family. He called on the authorities to provide immediate security protection for his relatives, saying they continue to face serious threats.

The investigation remains ongoing as prosecutors continue examining the recovered evidence and the circumstances surrounding the attack.
