National cricketer Umar Akmal had a meeting with Nawaz Sharif, the leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), in London on Friday.
After the meeting, speaking to the media, Akmal stated that he discussed cricket-related matters with Nawaz Sharif. He made a request to Nawaz Sharif, hoping that it would be accepted.
Umar Akmal further mentioned that his fitness is good, and he wants to play for the Pakistan cricket team. He expressed positivity about the state of cricket and stated that things will improve with Nawaz Sharif’s involvement.
It should be noted that Umar Akmal had previously faced suspension for not reporting spot-fixing during the Pakistan Super League. He also apologized for this.
In 2020, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) barred the national cricketer from all cricket activities. Later, in 2021, Omar Akmal was granted permission to play domestic cricket.
